This article by Jon Kaliski is in favor of the ban on supergraphic billboards.

I respectfully disagree.  These buildings are far more interesting with them and we should instead strive to assure that good graphic design be allowed to invigorate dull facades.  No moving graphics or obnoxious lighting of course, but an approval process that allows for tasteful and beautiful ephemeral imagery to enliven these buildings and neighborhoods.  Perhaps there could be a ban on explicit display of logos or insignia.  Perhaps a time limit or a clause that distributes some of the proceeds to local community needs…

…There is no debate, however, that the movie was terrible.
