The Inka Sun Curve, a closed loop vertical aquaponic micro farm powered by solar panels a wind turbine, and a battery bank. The Sun Curve grows plants vertically using the water from the fishpond as a reservoir and a nutrient source. The plants roots, grow media, and a colony of microorganisms act as a biological filter, cleaning the water for the fish. This system recycles water and uses about 10% of the water consumed in traditional farming and gardening. The Sun Curve can store enough power in its battery bank to run a built in water pump, ultraviolet filtration, and a computer/ phone system. This model was originally designed to support remote clinics, schools, and refugee camps.
The Inka Stretch Garden, is the "Bio Quilt” material that we use in all our vertical hydroponic gardens, produced in rolls, this 1 inch thick grow matrix and can be stretched over fences, walls, or stretched between poles. The Stretch Garden can grow plants vertically by cycling water through the Bio Quilt and using the same water over until it evaporates. This garden is considered “hydrocentric” because it cultivates the water resource as much as the plants. In this system, the water does not touch the ground, thereby making a great water recycling device for “grey water” or just getting the most of available water resources.
The Inka Wall Garden is a synthesis of all our innovations, made available in the most concise form. As we designed and built large vertical gardens for international development projects and relief work, we discovered that these same devices would work great anywhere. So to get to the point, we created a “Wall Garden” that can hang on a wall or sit on a floor, it produces vegetables, flowers and herbs in a small attractive housing. We designed this garden to be as inexpensive as possible while still maintaining its integrity to be a real tool. You can grow a garden in places that have no land and limited water. Our gardens still require electricity to run the water pump; a solar powered version will be available for clients that have a need or interest. The wall garden is suitable for apartments and condo patios.
