HNTB Engineering with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. have won a competition to design a wildlife crossing outside of Vail. The design would create a wide swatch of continuous land over a highway overpass in the Rockies, allowing both animals and humans to pass over traffic without danger.

It’s difficult for me to appreciate shopping mall design (there are some exceptions), but the hanging plants, pendant lights, and reflective glass in Herzog & de Meuron’s mixed-use development in Munich is pretty amazing.
