santiagomartinez: Aaron Huey, Kekku, Burma (Mynamar)
Kekku is a temple complex located 45 km south of Taunggyi in the Shan state of Eastern Burma (Myanmar). Locals claim it was first seen by a Westerner in 1996. The Pa O people in the area place the number of pagodas in the complex at over 4,000. Estimates of their age range from the 12th to the 16th century. The complex is still actively used by locals, especially in March, when thousands of Pa O devotees from all over the region celebrate the full moon festival.
