COME GET YA LINKS!

The above image is by Superstudio who were a firm that was founded in Florence in 1966 - they’re done a whole heap of stuff, but it’s probably the renderings of their megastructures that are the most recognisable. While the megastructures were unsurprisingly never built, they did manage to design these tables, which are essentially just smaller versions of the same design intent, and are quite cool. I would like to own one, or at least build by own inferior version.

Some other things that I’ve found interesting in the last few hours is a TED talk by Ken Robinson, who thinks Schools Kill Creativity, and to be fair - he’s got quite a good point. Admittedly, it’s been banging around TED for 4 years now, so chances are you’ve watched it - in which case, watch this far more recent one by Lewis Pugh who is one truly mad (though passionate) bastard.

Digging in the dirt is a tumblr with a nice looking theme and where I found the aforementioned TED talk in amongst a interesting smattering of this and that…

I also had a look around Monocle, where I saw this little clip on Polaroid film, and I know how much you all love Polaroids - so check that out.

I also came across a fantastic short film directed by Dan Brown (no, not that Dan Brown) called Your Lucky Day, which revolves around a winning lottery ticket in a convenience store and could be seen as a study in convergence theory. - either way, 15 minutes very well spent.

Also keep an eye on the sporadic postings over at Things Magazine which has directly influenced the format of this link laden post.
