A vertical Theme Park?
Who would have thought. In a time where urban sprawl is an issue and the amusement parks of the 20th century were based in the suburbs, with giant heat collecting asphalt car parks and rides spread over huge areas of land, we need to think about urban density and the fact that many millions of people actually live in major, dense built up areas, across the world and can’t afford to live nor travel to the suburbs - especially in automobile oriented cities such as Los Angeles in North America.
The picture above is an idea for a vertical theme park that could be constructed in Manhattan.

The Olympic Forest Park
Veronica Lim has a good summary on the Olympic Forest Park wetland. I have seen very few images or articiles in english that promote what is a very noteworthy project. This project is also intended to have ongoing research of the ecological systems that were part of the Beijing Olympic site. The park includes “4.15 hectares of wetlands prevent eutrophication of the park’s water bodies”
Article extract:
“The Olympic Forest Park is designed to use reclaimed water from Qinghe Wastewater Treatment Plant. The effluent from Qinghe Secondary WWTP which is rated as Category V by national standards, has high levels of the nutrients nitrogen and phosphorous and could therefore lead to the eutrophication of the proposed 20.3-hectare lake”
